The kick-off event of each Dachau Summer of Music is the street festival: "Jazz in allen Gassen".  On this evening, the entire old town becomes a pedestrian zone. Visitors enjoy live music on six different stages, dolce vita under the open sky, dancing in the streets – with bars, cafés, restaurant and stores open until midnight.

In June and July there are usually three to four open-air concerts held on stage in front of Dachau’s town hall.

The Baroque Picnic in the palace garden is another highlight on Dachau's cultural calendar and usually marks the end of the Dachau Summer of Music in July. People gather in the magnificent garden of Dachau Palace to enjoy their self brought delicacies in an unforgettable atmosphere. Lounging under the apple trees on their blankets or in their lawn chairs guests enjoy the musical entertainement from the stage while the garden is illuminated by candle-light and torches.
